Diagnosis of Acute Lecukemias, blast transformation of myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), and blast transformation of CML, myelodysplastic/myeloproliferative neoplasms (MDS/MPN) and myelodysplastic neoplasms (MPN) uses these specimen types: 

  • Bone marrow aspirates,
  • or peripheral blood 

Diagnosis of Chronic lymphoproliferative disorders (CLDs) and staging non-hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) cases uses these types of specimen: 

  • Bone marrow aspirates,
  • or peripheral blood
  • FNAC (Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology) 
  • Body fluid (CSF & Pleural effusion)
  • Lymphoid gland biopsy 

Diagnosis of PNH uses specimen from peripheral blood.
